  • Inferences drawn from the above by advertising and analytics providers, used to build audience profiles.

Sensitive information

Some of what we hold is treated as sensitive under Colorado and other privacy laws:

  • Health information. People sometimes describe health circumstances when they write to us, and health topics arise in coaching sessions, which are recorded. We do not ask for medical records or diagnoses, but we recognize that this information reaches us and we treat it accordingly.

  • Recordings of your face and voice, created during coaching sessions.

  • Approximate location, derived automatically.

We do not knowingly collect information about race, ethnicity, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, immigration status, union membership, or criminal history. We do not ask for government identification numbers, and we never see or store your card details.

Understanding how the Website is used Analytics, so we can improve it
Advertising Reaching people who may be interested in the books or the coaching, and measuring whether our advertising works
Keeping the Website secure Detecting spam, fraud and abuse

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. Nothing is decided by software about whether you can work with us, what you are charged, or what service you receive.

The legal basis for using it

Where the law requires us to name one:

  • Your consent — for email and text messaging, for cookies and advertising, for analytics, and for recording sessions.

  • Steps taken at your request before entering a contract — when you submit a coaching application.

  • Performing a contract with you — providing the coaching you have purchased, and taking payment for it.

  • Legal obligation — keeping financial records for tax purposes.

Where consent is the basis, you can withdraw it at any time, and we will stop.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We never have.

Service providers. We use other companies to run the practice. They act on our instructions, under contract, and may not use your information for their own purposes:

  • The platform that hosts our forms, email list, booking calendar and contact records.

  • Zoom, which hosts coaching sessions.

  • Fathom, which records, transcribes and summarizes coaching sessions.

  • Stripe, which processes payments.

  • DocuSign, which handles coaching agreements.

  • Our website host.

  • Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from automated spam.

Advertising and analytics companies. Some information collected automatically as you browse is shared with Meta, TikTok and Google so they can show our advertising to relevant audiences and report on how it performs. Under California and Colorado law this counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you have the right to opt out of it — see Your rights below.

What is never shared with advertisers: your name, your email address, your phone number, your coaching application, anything you write to us, session recordings, transcripts, summaries, or anything you tell us about your health.

Your mobile number and text message consent. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Nobody else. We do not share your information with data brokers. We do not provide it to train artificial intelligence models, and the setting that would allow our recording software to learn from session content is switched off.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. That is compulsion, not sharing, and we would tell you where we are permitted to.

Session recordings

Coaching sessions take place on Zoom and are recorded, producing a recording, a written transcript and a summary.

Why. Change of the kind this work involves often feels worse before it feels better, and people lose sight of how far they have come. Being able to return to how you spoke about something thirty, sixty or ninety days earlier is the clearest evidence that anything has shifted.

Consent, and the right to decline. You consent to recording in writing, in the coaching agreement, before any session takes place. You may decline, and you will be worked with on exactly the same terms.

What they contain. You are asked to be on camera for the first minute or two so that Christi can see you are somewhere quiet and private. After that your camera is optional. A recording may therefore include video as well as audio.

How they are held. Securely, in a private account. They are never shared, never used for marketing, and never used to train software.

You may request a copy of any of your own recordings, or ask for them to be deleted, at any time.

How long we keep it

What How long
Session recordings, transcripts and summaries Up to one year after you finish working with us
Coaching application answers Twelve months
Contact and email list records Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them
Financial and transaction records As long as tax law requires

We carry out a review every January. At that review, recordings belonging to anyone no longer working with us are deleted, and application answers older than twelve months are cleared.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See Your rights.

How we protect it

  • We collect only what we need.

  • Information sent to or from the Website is encrypted in transit.

  • We delete information once we no longer need it.

  • We keep our software and safeguards current.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Cookies and tracking

A cookie is a small file stored on your device by your browser. This Website uses cookies to understand how the site is used, to measure and deliver advertising, and to remember your preferences.

Advertising and analytics cookies are set only after you agree to them. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — though some parts of the Website may then not work properly.

We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.

Do Not Track. We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, which have no agreed standard. Global Privacy Control, above, is the signal we honor.

Advertising

We use the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel to measure our advertising and to reach people who may be interested in the books or the coaching. Those companies process the information they collect for their own purposes as well as ours; their own privacy policies govern that.

You can limit this through the cookie banner on this Website, through your browser settings, and through the ad preference settings offered by Meta and TikTok.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Website is used — which pages are read, how people arrive, and what they do. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google provides.

Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed here. If you are outside the United States — including in Canada, Quebec, the United Kingdom or the European Union — your information will be transferred to and processed in a country whose privacy laws may differ from your own, and where authorities may in some circumstances be able to access it.

Where we use service providers to process information from those regions, we rely on the contractual protections in their data processing agreements.

Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are, we will honor the following. We do not check whether a particular law entitles you to them:

1. To ask whether we hold information about you, and to see it.

2. To receive it in a portable format, or to have it sent to another provider.

3. To have it corrected.

4. To have it deleted.

5. To restrict how we use it.

6. To withdraw consent at any time.

7. To opt out of email marketing.

8. To opt out of text messages.

9. To opt out of targeted advertising and of the sharing of your information for that purpose.

10. To opt out of profiling.

11. To opt out of location tracking.

12. To complain — to us, or to a regulator.

Exercising any of these will never affect the service you receive.

How to exercise them

Email [email protected]. It is the fastest route and the one we watch. A letter sent to the address at the top of this policy reaches us as well, but it will take considerably longer to answer.

To confirm it is you, we will ask for your name and your email address. We will not ask for anything more.

We respond within thirty days. If a request will take longer we will tell you why. If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain the reason.

To opt out of targeted advertising and sharing, you can also use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link on this Website, decline advertising cookies in the cookie banner, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser.

To stop email, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message.

Complaints

Please tell us first — [email protected]. We would rather fix it.

You may also complain to a regulator:

  • Colorado and other US states — your state Attorney General.

  • Canada — the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

  • Quebec — the Commission d'accès à l'information.

  • United Kingdom — the Information Commissioner's Office.

  • European Union — the data protection authority for your country.

Children

This Website is for adults. We do not offer services to anyone under eighteen and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, please tell us.

Links to other websites

This Website links to other sites, including Amazon, Spotify and social media platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Their policies apply once you leave here.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will post the updated version on this Website and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly.

Questions

If you have a question about this policy, or about how your information is handled, email us at [email protected] and we will answer you.
